LOSS CONTROL

Keep the Workplace Safe

The most cost-effective way to keep premiums low is to prevent workplace accidents in the first place. But to do so takes ongoing, professional programs that reduce accident exposure, educate workers and provide incentives for employees to always put safety first. It takes FHM.

To make sure your company is making the most of the safety techniques available today, FHM provides an initial assessment of your current Loss Control program, complete with suggestions for other proven accident prevention and cost reduction tools. Then, FHM works together with you to develop a highly effective, comprehensive plan that can include:

  • Safety policy/committee implementation
  • Safety training programs
  • Hazard communications
  • Full (or post-injury only) drug-free workplace programs
  • Employee safety awareness programs
  • Management and employee incentive programs
  • Updates on federal and state safety requirements

Developing an effective plan is just the first step in FHM's service. Once a plan is in place, FHM continuously monitors its effectiveness and results through such tools as:

  • Analyzing Reported Claims: FHM monitors computer-generated loss reports monthly to identify injury trends and other problem areas.
  • Conducting Loss Control Surveys: If an injury trend or problem is spotted, FHM examines possible causes and helps develop ways to eliminate or reduce risks.
  • Offering Management Assistance: FHM works with management to develop a corrective action plan to address injury loss trends.
  • Producing Management Reports: Findings and recommendations are put in writing to assist in management decisions.
  • Providing Special Injury Prevention Programs: FHM makes available to all policyholders our special programs designed to reduce the risk of two common workplace injuries — lifting and slip & fall.

And, at FHM, every Loss Control representative is certified as a Safety Consultant by either the World Safety Organization (WSO) or the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). This extra measure of professionalism sets FHM's program apart in terms of quality and results.
